We spend a lot of time working together, solving problems, and keeping things moving, but how well do we actually know the people behind the screens?

For this round of Meet the Team, we asked a couple of questions during our meetings to learn a little more about everyone’s adventures, interests, and the things they would love to learn if money and career prospects were completely off the table.

As expected, the answers were all over the place.

## Where Have You Traveled?

We started with a classic question:

**What is the furthest you have ever traveled from home for a vacation, and what was the most memorable part?**

### Ed: Germany

Ed’s answer took him all the way to Germany, where he visited his sister. One of the biggest highlights was exploring the castles.

### Adia: Okinawa and Japan

Adia’s travels have taken her to Okinawa and other parts of Japan, including Kyoto. Between shopping, mountains, and experiencing the local culture, Japan definitely left an impression.

If there is good food involved, the trip automatically gets bonus points.

### Mark: Argentina

Mark went all the way to Argentina, where one of the biggest highlights was the food, specifically asada-style meats.  And, of course, the wine deserves a mention too.

### Paul: Turkey

Paul’s travels took him to Turkey, with the Grand Bazaar standing out as a memorable experience.

The Grand Bazaar is one of those places that seems like it could easily turn into an entire afternoon of wandering, shopping, and discovering things you did not know you needed.

## If You Could Study Anything for Free

Next, we took things in a completely different direction:

**If you could go to college and study anything for free, and you did not need the degree to make money, what would you study?**

### Ed: Art

Ed would take the opportunity to explore art classes in general to improve his current skills.

Free education with no pressure to turn it into a career sounds like the perfect excuse to finally pick up a hobby you have always wanted to try.

### Adia: Websites, Tech, and Pirates?

Adia would actually stick with her current path and continue studying websites and technology because, apparently, she has not had quite enough of that yet.

But there was also a very important second answer: a pirate certificate from MIT.

### Mark: AI

Mark would go back to school for technology, specifically AI.

With how quickly AI is changing the technology landscape, that is a pretty understandable choice and probably one that could lead to some very interesting classes.

### Paul: Classic Cars

Paul took a completely different approach to classic car restoration.

Specifically, he would choose McPherson College’s Classic Car Restoration program.

Because if you are going to study something just because you love it, restoring classic cars sounds like a pretty fun way to spend your time.

## What Did We Learn?

Apparently, our team has some range.

We have castles in Germany, mountains in Japan, asada in Argentina, the Grand Bazaar in Turkey, art, AI, websites, pirates, and classic cars all represented.

Not exactly what you would expect from a typical work meeting, and that is probably what makes these conversations so fun.

The next time you are in a meeting with the team, remember that you are not just talking to coworkers. You are talking to potential artists, AI specialists, classic car restorers, web developers, and potentially one MIT-certified pirate.

Stay tuned for the next Meet the Team!
